PARTAZ | in a nutshell…
PARTAZ: A Musical Journey Between India and Reunion Island
TRAMAY, a musical group from Reunion Island, and two Indian musicians of Carnatic classical music have joined their talents to create PARTAZ, a unique and creative musical project, drawing its inspiration from various traditional and modern influences.
Two artistic residency periods marked this project in 2023:
* In India, from February 24th to March 29th, in partnership with the Kathakali Center of Fort Kochi.
* In Reunion Island, from May 6th to June 2nd, in collaboration with the Cité des Arts of Saint-Denis.
Throughout May, the public of Reunion Island was able to discover PARTAZ through a rich and varied program: concerts, masterclasses, workshops, educational outreach in schools... In total, more than 15 events were offered to reach different audiences.
Music, a powerful universal language, is vibration and emotion. Musical mixing transports us to the heart of the encounters and stories it tells. The inscription of Maloya in 2009 on the intangible cultural heritage of Unesco reminds us of the importance of the cultural richness of the Overseas Territories, an essential element of the identity of the populations, and its capacity to influence and nourish many musical currents.
