THE SHADOWS, Hassina

Created in 2010, this piece was built in cooperation with Didier Filo. Florence was able to work with schools for this piece. Florence likes to question the human being and our humanity in a casual way, almost in a playful way. The choreographer brings us in her tender and dreamlike universe, where grotesque and fantasy characters move
around. A universe with contrasts, where bright colors and black
and white are projected on screens and on the stage in a permanent game with our imagination... The tone of the preceding work (I’m coming for…) can be felt. The spectator can not only have fun and smile but also question, because you don’t have to be sad to evoke sadness… The dance, bare and complex by turns, with a succession
of spirals and falls, brings us to the heart of a terrible subject on which silence has imposed a taboo that is being lifted delicately and tenderly and even with humour.
This creation tells the story of Hassina.
Creation realised during a residency at the Dépôt de Rhum de Pierrefond, Saint
Pierre, Réunion, and at the Canter Theater, Saint Denis, Réunion, with the
contribution of the pupils of Basil Brown's dance school, Arts § Danse, Tampon,
Réunion
